The Form of Maa Durga You Must Worship – Miraculous Goddess Kali Mantra

Ohm Krim Kaliyai Namah

I remember doing this special podcast about the Das Mahavidyas, a subject I am deeply passionate about and love discussing. So, right at the start of the podcast, the interviewer asked me, “Why Kali?”

With a gentle smile, I responded, ‘Why NOT Kali? She embodies the raw power of creation and destruction, a terrifying and awe-inspiring force, right?”

Ever since she chose me to be her devotee, she has been my Spirit Guide, my ishta devata. One of the milestones that I consider my personal success is conducting two grand Kali havans and hosting hundreds of devotees, a feat that would not have materialized if not for the blessings of Maa Kali.

It is an exciting story about how she came to me. I was preparing for my Automatic Writing workshop when I sensed a prickle at the back of my neck. As a natural psychic medium and an empath, I usually contact spirits and other energies through clairvoyance.

But this was something different. All my psychic senses seemed to flare at once. I saw the vision of Maa Kali, heard her voice, and felt her touch—every gesture calling out to me.

She was there giving me the go-ahead, and intuitively, I knew Maa Kali was giving me her blessings to launch the new Akashic Records workshop, my dream project to help people understand their past life karmic debts.

It is a shame that many people hastily judge those who express their devotion to Maa Kali. But can we really blame them? Kali, often misunderstood, is unfairly associated with notoriety and unhinged ferocity.

Is it because of how she looks? Perhaps. Scriptures and iconographies describe her as the fierce goddess with blood-dripping fangs, wild hair, arms wielding deadly weapons, blood-shot eyes, lolling tongue, and human garlands adorning her neck and hips. The sheer imagery is enough to intimidate anyone.

But aren’t we taught not to judge a book by its cover? When you flip a coin, there is also another side to it. And Kali has one too. Yes, she is the rebel of the divine world, but she is also a loving mother and protector.

She is all about shaking things up, causing a stir, and bringing on the drama. Sometimes, a little shock and awe is what’s needed to spark some real change.

Her ferocity is not without purpose; it is a tool she uses to protect her devotees and destroy evil.

What Does Kali Represent in the Contemporary World?

In her fierceness and tenderness, Kali, the awe-inspiring Goddess of Destruction, guides us to confront our toughest challenges and create profound, life-altering shifts. She is not just a deity but a catalyst for change, inspiring personal growth and transformation.

Her intentionally savage and wild images teach us that the divine doesn’t always appear as happy and peaceful things. Sometimes, it comes as a difficult change or loss in our lives, but it is through these challenges that we find our true strength and resilience.

Many women, like us, have been pushed down by patriarchy. Society want us to be polite and quiet. But Kali says no to all that! At the end of each fight, she does show her softer side, but it is because she loves, not because she is told to calm down.

Kali, the fierce protector, takes on all kinds of demons, like shame, doubt, and addiction. She will remove anything that hurts you, shielding you from the harsh realities of life. That’s pretty kind if you ask me.

Kali is your therapist who’d say, “I’m your library. When you are lost, you can come to me for guidance.” If a part of you feels unlovable, let her deal with it. Kali will handle the pain for you. She is always there, ready to lend a helping hand. Her protective nature ensures that you are never alone in your struggles.

She just wants you to find your wisdom and strength, which can sometimes be painful. You might need to let go of things you thought were important.

Kali is tough, but she is all about love. She is always dancing through challenges, teaching us that true wisdom doesn’t come from material things but from being able to let go. Like us, she is constantly growing, becoming wiser and kinder.

Why Must We Pray to Maa Kali?

Maa Kali, with her incredible powers that nobody can fully comprehend, is not just a deity but a unifying force. Even in Vedas and mythology, it is said that all the other gods devoted their powers to her due to defeating powerful demons.

So, when you worship Maa Kali, you receive blessings not just from her but also from all those gods. It demonstrates her inclusive nature and willingness to embrace all who seek her guidance, making you feel accepted and valued.

Maa Kali’s relevance in today’s world, filled with greed, infidelity, and negativity, is undeniable. She is the goddess of Kaliyug, an era characterized by extreme evil and negativity. Money has become the ultimate power, leading to all sorts of problems like cheating and black magic.
